(Spencer)– The Clay county board of supervisors Tuesday settled deadlocks in two city council races from last Tuesday’s elections.
The supervisors canvassed the results and drew names to determine the winners in tied city council elections in Dickens and Rossie.
In Dickens, Mark Jones and John Miller each received 21 votes for a two-year term. John Miller’s name was drawn as the winner.
In Rossie, three people tied for two open city council seats. Elaine Zahrt, Beth Starkson and Stacy Baas each received eight votes in last week’s election. The supervisors drew the names of Zahrt and Starkson as the winners.
