Primghar Man Charged In Weekend Stabbing

(Primghar)– A Primghar man has been charged in the weekend stabbing of a Spencer man.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says it received a 911 call Saturday evening regarding an assault involving several people at 675 North Welch Avenue in Primghar. A short time later authorities received a second 911 call indicating someone at that residence had been stabbed.

Upon arriving authorities located a male inside the residence with two stab wounds to the torso area. The victim was identified as 41-year-old Jimmy Sheriff of Spencer. Moments later authorities located a male subject outside the residence. He was identified as 34-year-old Norman Dale Clark, Junior of Primghar. Through their investigation authorities allege Clark stabbed Sheriff twice during an assault inside the residence.

Sheriff was taken by ambulance to the Primghar hospital where he was treated and released. Norman Dale Clark, Junior was arrested and is being held in the O’Brien county jail on one count of going armed with intent…a class “D” felony; and one count of willful injury…a class “C” felony. If convicted on both counts Clark could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison and fined up to 17,500-dollars.

Clark appeared before a Magistrate who set bond at 22,750-dollars.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Sanborn Police Department.
