(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle accident this (Mon.) afternoon at the intersection of Highway 71 and 34th Street in Spirit Lake sent one person to the hospital.
Spirit Lake police say 54-year-old Maxine DeShazo of Spirit Lake was turning left onto 34th Street from Highway 71 when she turned into the path of a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Darin Radcliffe of Spirit Lake who was southbound on Highway 71.
DeShazo was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare where she was treated for bruises and abrasions. No injuries were reported to Radcliffe.
A 1993 Toyota Camry driven by DeShazo was totaled; 3,500-dollars in damage was estimated to a 1999 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Radcliffe.
DeShazo was cited for failure to yield upon making a left-hand turn.
The mishap took place shortly before 3:00 p.m.
Spirit Lake police were assisted on the scene by the Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and the Okoboji Police Department.
