(Milford)– A Milford man has been arrested in connection with a domestic disturbance early this (Saturday) morning at a rural Milford residence.
35-year-old Justin Champine was charged with domestic abuse assault…an aggravated misdemeanor; domestic abuse assault, a serious misdemeanor; and reckless use of a firearm, a simple misdemeanor.
Champine was allegedly armed with a gun and was in a house trying to get to a female occupant. Authorities surrounded the residence. They were able to arrest Champine after a brief stand-off.
Champine is being held in the Dickinson county jail awaiting an initial appearance before a judge.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Milford and Okoboji Police Departments and the Arnolds Park Police Department’s Canine Unit.
Champine is innocent until proven guilty.
