(Milford)– Linda Seeger, a mathematics teacher at Okoboji High School, has been named a finalist for the 2005 Presidential Awards For Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. It’s the nation’s highest honor for K-12 teaching in those fields.
Established by congress in 1983 and administered by the National Science Foundation, the program allows each state to select up to three mathematics and three science teachers as state finalists.
Recipients of the 2005 Presidential Awards will be announced during a week long celebration in March 2006 in Washington, D.C.
Seeger is one of 253 state finalists for the prestigious award.
