November 22, 2014

(Sibley)– Two Sibley men have been arrested in connection with the theft of several road signs in Osceola county.

The Sheriff’s Office says it conducted two searches last weekend in connection with the investigation. The first took place Saturday at 326 10th Street West in Sibley. Deputies found stolen road signs along with drug paraphernalia. The occupant of the home, 18-year-old Joshua Nitch of Sibley, was arrested at the scene.

The second search was conducted Sunday at the same residence. Deputies found several more road signs, along with drug paraphernalia and marijuana residue. Deputies arrested 19-year-old Brian Winter of Sibley when he showed up at the home during the search. They also discovered Winter was wanted on an outstanding warrant from O’Brien county.

Winter was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, fourth degree theft and three counts of interference with road signs.

Nitch is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and fifth degree theft.

Both men were booked into the Osceola county jail.
