(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle crash on Highway 86 Monday night sent one person to the hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says 70-year-old Robert Maxwell was northbound in 2005 International semi hauling cargo trailers when he started fishtailing on the snow-covered road. The trailer slid into the southbound lane, striking a 2002 Jeep Liberty driven by 57-year-old David Hopkins.
Hopkins, who’s hometown wasn’t immediately available, was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with leg and arm pain. His condition wasn’t immediately available.
No word yet as to if any charges will be filed.
The collision took place just after 10:00 p.m.
