(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake Elementary School is the recipient of a 750-dollar corporate donation from Hy-Vee.
Dan Vondrak is the General Manager of the Spirit Lake Hy-Vee store. He says it was made possible through a program Hy-Vee is sponsoring this year known as “Smiles For Education”.
Vondrak says a drawing was held to determine the local winner. The entry of Kyle Wiebers, a student at Spirit Lake Elementary, was drawn as the winner. Kyle will receive a free Apple I-pod.
Kyle’s dad, Jon Wiebers, is the Principal at Spirit Lake Elementary. He says students and staff have identified several possible uses for the money, including things such as computers and lockers.
Hy-Vee stores in Spencer, Worthington and Windom have also distributed “Smiles For Education” awards.
