(Ruthven)– The search continues for a cause of Saturday’s fire at a Ruthven restaurant.
Ruthven firefighters were called to Mama Moose’s Restaurant shortly before 9:00 a.m. Saturday. They arrived to find smoke pouring from the building and a fire burning in the basement.
The Iowa State Fire Marshal’s Office, Ruthven Fire Department and the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office continue to look for a possible cause.
The building sustained structural damage to the basement and had to be shored up for the scene to be examined.
The building is not usable at this time due to the damage. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
