(Sibley)– Osceola county authorities say charges have been filed against the driver of a van that ran into a business in downtown Sibley Friday.
Authorities say 19-year-old Adan Lopez of Sibley was driving a 1992 Dodge Caravan when he lost control. Authorities say the vehicle started sliding and collided with the storefront of Shaughnessy’s Bakery at the corner of Ninth Street and Fourth Avenue.
Authorities found a license plate at the scene that led them to 210 and-a-half Ninth Street in Sibley where Lopez was staying. He was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense; no driver’s license; no vehicle insurance; failure to maintain control and failure to obey a stop sign.
Lopez was booked into the Osceola county jail on a cash bond of 1,950-dollars.
Damage estimates to the store and vehicle weren’t available. No injuries were reported.
The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. Friday.
