(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday voted in favor of a Compensation Board recommendation granting a four percent pay increase to the county’s elected officials. The vote was five-to-nothing.
The action didn’t come without some discusion, though. Supervisor Wayne Northey said he was concerned over the impact the decision could have on the overall budget, especially if the four percent figure is extended to ALL county employees.
In other business, the supervisors approved the purchase of a new server for computers in the Sheriff’s and County Attorney Offices. The 10,137-dollars will come out of the Information Technology Budget.
The supervisors also learned Tuesday the county can officially begin occupying the first phase of the new courthouse February 20th. The public is highly urged to take care of as much business as possible at the courthouse by that date.
