(Sioux Valley, Mn.)– A Lake Park man was seriously injured in a single vehicle mishap early Saturday morning in Sioux Valley Township of Jackson county.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says 45-year-old Steven Harold Cannon of Lake Park was northbound on 385th Avenue when he failed to negotiate a curve near 700th Street. The 1994 Chevrolet pickup he was driving left the road and traveled several hundred feet into an east embankment of a gravel road running parallel with 385th Avenue.
Cannon was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake and was later airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital. There was no word on the nature of his injuries.
The pickup Cannon was driving was totaled.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance.
The mishap took place shortly before 4:00 a.m.
