(Spirit Lake)– It didn’t take long for crews to knock down the former “Full Throttle” building on Lake Street in downtown Spirit Lake.
The building was one of the oldest on the street and had recently fallen into a state of disrepair.
Most of the structure was razed in less than an hour and-a-half and by mid-morning had been reduced to a pile of rubble.
A portion of Lake Street and the surrounding area was cordoned off to traffic and pedestrians as a precaution.
The building was torn down to make room for a massive rennovation of the neighboring Antler’s Hotel building. Work on that project is expected to get underway very soon.
