(Des Moines)– A Spirit Lake republican is co-sponsoring a bill that would give each county fair in Iowa thousands of dollars to improve local infrastructure.
Representative Mike May says House File 21-67 will provide each county fair in Iowa with 10-thousand dollars to help with maintenance of buildings and to construct new ones.
May believes the commitment will provide a major piece of economic development to the state. He says people come from miles around to attend the county fairs, and the funding will help accomodate each visitor.
