(Okoboji)– The Lakes Art Center announced late Friday it’s received a major gift from Ann Thorne Weaver…a year-round resident of Omaha and a seasonal resident of the Iowa Great Lakes.
John Goodenow, President-elect of the Lakes Art Center, announced Anne Thorne Weaver has contributed 150-thousand dollars to assist in the completion of the center’s building project.
Thorne Weaver has been a generous supporter of the Lakes Art Center over the years with one of her previous gifts being the Bogenrief stained glass ceiling in the center’s entry area.
Goodenow expressed his appreciation to Weaver on behalf of the Lakes Art Center and its board of directors. He unveiled a sign naming the Lakes Art Center’s Lobby Gallery in honor of Weaver. Weaver was also presented with the very first lifetime membership to the Lakes Art Center.
