(Spencer)– Single-vehicle crash in Clay county late last week claimed the life of a California man.
The Iowa State Patrol says 23-year-old David Martin Jespersen of San Diego, California was southbound on 160th Avenue Friday when he lost control of a 1995 Ford pickup about a mile and-a-half south of Everly on 160th Avenue. The vehicle left the road and went into the ditch, flipping on its top.
Jesperson was pronounced dead a short time later. A passenger, 81-year-old Duane Stanley Jesperson of Spencer, was taken to Spencer Hospital. There was no word on the extent of his injuries.
The crash took place around 10:30 a.m.
