Clay County Crash Injures 18-year-old Female

November 22, 2014

Spencer)– A single-vehicle mishap Saturday in Clay county sent one person to the hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol says a vehicle was westbound on 270th Street near 100th Avenue in the northwest corner of Clay county when the driver lost control. The vehicle left the road and went into the south ditch, colliding with a utility pole.

Authorities say the driver, an 18-year-old female who’s name and hometown weren’t immediately released, was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital. A passenger, who’s name also wasn’t released, was taken to Spencer Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The State Patrol says the crash remains under investigation.
