Weak Tornados Touch Down In Clay County

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– There were no reports of injury or damage after weak tornadoes touched down Wednesday evening in Clay county.

Touchdowns were reported just southwest of the Menard’s store in Spencer and about three miles east of Everly near Scharnberg Park.

The weak tornadoes were associated with intense thunderstorms that passed just to the south of the Iowa Great Lakes.

The storms also produced heavy rain, strong wind and hail.
