Minor Injuries Reported In Car/Bike Collision

(Spencer)– A Spencer boy sustained minor injuries Saturday when a bicycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a car near Grand Avenue and Fourth Street Southeast in Spencer.

Police say 29-year-old Toshia Johannsen-Casey of Royal was southbound on Grand Avenue and had stopped for a red light. Johannsen-Casey told police she collided with the bicycle ridden by 11-year-old Hunter Cauthron of Spencer after the light turned green and she started to pull away. Johannsen-Casey and witnesses told police Cauthron rode his bike right in front of the vehicle.

Cauthron was treated on the scene for minor injuries.

No charges were filed.

The mishap took place shortly before 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
