November 22, 2014

(Storm Lake)– 21 people have been arrested in connection with the sale, use and possession of illegal drugs in Storm Lake.

Storm Lake police say the arrests are the result of an 18-month investigation into the sale, possession and use of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana in Storm Lake.

Authorities say a series of separate investigations by the Storm Lake Police Department supported by the Buena Vista County Join Narcotics Unit culminated Tuesday in an enforcement operation titled “Operation Crystal Ball”.

Authorities started making arrests early Tuesday.

Storm Lake police were assisted by the Newell, Cherokee, Sheldon and Denison police departments and the Ida and O’Brien County Sheriff’s Offices.

Those arrested are from Storm Lake, Newell, Sheldon, Holstein, Denison and Cherokee.

Storm Lake police say arrest warrants have been issued for several other people wanted in connection with the ongoing investigation.
