(Madison, Wis.)– Alliant Energy is reporting a fourth-quarter loss due to the results of charges related to some brazilian utilities it sold last month.
The Madison, Wisconsin utility lost 64 million dollars, or 55 cents a share, compared with a profit of nearly 43 million dollars, or 37 cents a share a year ago.
For the year, Alliant says it lost seven-point-seven million dollars, or seven cents a share.
Alliant Energy is the parent company of Wisconsin Power and Light and Interstate Power and Light in Iowa, serving about one and-a-half million customers.
