E’Burg Man Charged With OWI; Eluding

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– An Emmetsburg man is facing numerous charges after trying to flee from police early Sunday.

An Emmetsburg police officer observed a reckless driver in the 2100 block of Main Street around 2:00 a.m. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, at which time the driver, 23-year-old Patrick Robertson of Emmetsburg, took off–heading east on Main Street.

Robertson drove about three blocks before he attempted a left-turn into a residential neighborhood near Kerber Milling. The car spun out of control; Robertson jumped out and started running from the officer. He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody without incident.

Robertson was charged with OWI-first offense; and eluding…a class “D” felony.

He was booked into the Palo Alto county jail and was released on bond Sunday afternoon.

No damage or injuries were reported during the incident.
