(Arnolds Park)– Members of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce are being invited to participate in a special event in late March at the statehouse in Des Moines.
Tom Kuhlman, the chamber’s Executive Director, says Tuesday, March 28th will be “Okoboji Day” at the statehouse. He says they’ll begin bright and early that day with a breakfast at which time they’ll meet with the local legislative delegation.
Kuhlman says there are several bills the chamber is still closely following, including the school start date; a proposal by the DNR to tax commercial docks; and funding for tourism marketing.
Kuhlman says most of the chamber delegation will head to Des Moines already the night before as they’re session with lawmakers begins at 7:00 a.m. He adds that if enough people go, the chamber will rerserve a block of rooms. Call 332-2107 for more information.
