(Arnolds Park)– The “Sustain Our Park” campaign continues to hone in on its goal. It was reported at Monday’s meeting of the Historic Arnolds Park, Incorporated board of directors that the effort has raised 1,562,914-dollars…reducing the park’s loan balance to $323,918.36.
Long-range planning chair Joe Connover reported his committee has completed a final rough-draft of a strategic plan to sustain the park into perpetuity. Included in that is a long-term capitol improvement fund and an emphasis on responsible stewardship of the environmentally sensitive land on which the park’s operations are located. Copies of the document were distributed to board members for possible action at their next meeting.
It was also reported the slides in the Maritime Museum has been converted to DVD format and a new projector is being purchased. It was also reported 109 memberships totaling nearly 13-thousand dollars have been sold in a recent campaign. Requests for bids for a humidification system for the museum have also been sent out.
Marketing Committee Chair Julie Fillenwarth reported they’re seeking applications to fill the full-time position of Marketing and Development Manager for the park; and Queen Two Committee Chair Joe Vanderlaan reported Roy Marra has been hired to manage excursion boat activities for the upcoming season. Among those is a 20th anniversary celebration; a weekly happy hour champagne cruise and decorative lights…along with a new ticket booth.
