The Veteran’s Services office is still closed today (Wed.) after moving into the new courthouse yesterday (Tues.). The driver’s license station is also closed today (Wed.)along with the Treasurer’s Office.
Tomorrow (Thurs.), the County Auditor moves into her temporary location in what used to be the Assessor’s Office on the east side of Hill Avenue.
The court system will move into the new courthouse this Friday.
Meanwhile, supervisor Paul Johnson can tell you what it’s like to be locked in the new jail. Wile taking pictures Tuesday, Johnson accidentally walked into a jail cell in the Sheriff’s Office. Just that quick, Johnson says bars slammed shut on him, locking him in the cell. It wasn’t until some time later a worker in the 911 communications center discovered what had happened and pushed some buttons, freeing Johnson.
