(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake High School Principal Fred Skretta is stepping down after two years at the helm. Skretta is resigning effective the end of the school year. He’ll assume the position of Principal at Oak Park High School, a 9-12 high school with an enrollment of two-thousand plus students. The school is located in the North Kansas City School District. Skretta came to Spirit Lake from Independance, Missouri High School…also a suburb of Kansas City. Skretta assumes his new duties this coming July 1st.
A news release issued late today (Thursday) by Superintendent Tim Grieves says Skretta would like to “express his tremendous gratitude to the entire Spirit Lake High School Community including students, faculty, staff, parents and patrons for the wonderful experiences and great support his family and he enjoyed in the last two years”.
Grieves says the district will begin advertising for a replacement immediately, until April 3rd. He says interviews will be held April 11th and 12th involving students, faculty, staff and parents.
