Faulty Wiring Cited In Highway 86 Building Fire

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Faulty wiring in a door opener has been cited as the probable cause of a fire Saturday that heavily damaged a building on Highway 86.

Fire Chief Dave Kollasch says Spirit Lake firefighters were called to the scene around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. The building was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.

Spirit Lake firefighters were on the scene about three hours.

No injuries were reported.

The blaze was discovered by a truck driver passing by who reported heavy smoke coming from the building.

The State Fire Marsall’s Office was called to determine the cause.
