(Arnolds Park)– No injuries were reported Sunday in a boat fire on the south side of East Lake Okoboji.
Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire Chief Chris Youngbluth says firefighters were called to the Moore Lake area, but the boat’s owner alreaday had the fire put out by the time they arrived. He says three or four people on board the boat jumped into the water and were safely brought ashore by other boats in the area.
Youngbluth says some steam or smoke had been coming from the boat’s engine compartment. He says damage was very minor.
The incident took place shortly before 4:00 p.m.
