Wind Blows Camper Off I-90

(Jackson, Mn.)– Two people escaped injury Tuesday when a gust of wind blew a camper they were pulling with a pickup off Interstate 90 in Jackson county.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 73-year-old Gerald Spitzer of Stevensville, Michigan was driving a Dodge pickup that was pulling a fifth wheel camper westbound on Interstate 90 a mile west of Alpha when a gust of wind blew the camper off the road. The camper went into the median and rolled, landing upright on the eastbound shoulder of the interstate.

No injuries were reported to Spitzer or a passenger in his vehicle, Norma Spitzer, also of Stevensville, Michigan.

Extensive damage was reported.

The mishap took place around 7:30 a.m.
