E’burg Man Accused Of Pilfering Gaming Machine Money

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– An Emmetsburg man has been charged for allegedly embezzling more than 40-thousand dollars from gaming machines in various stores around the area.

39-year-old Robert Barker was arrested by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say Barker was an independent contractor in charge of emptying the machines in Clay county and the surrounding area. He’s accused of skimming 41,500-dollars from the machines between 2005 and 2006, with 21-thousand of that coming from machines in Clay county alone.

Barker was booked into jail pending an initial court appearance.
