(Storm Lake)– Buena Vista county authorities have arrested the man suspected of shooting two men last Thursday night.
The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Ulises Morales of Albert City Saturday morning without incident.
Morales is charged with two counts of attempted murder after he allegedly shot two men on a gravel road northwest of Storm Lake Thursday night. Harry Ritchart of Royal was shot in the head and Chris Wunder of Spencer suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, legs, and arms. Both men remain hospitalized in Sioux City.
Sheriff Chuck Eddy says the shootings happened after an altercation between the three men erupted during a drug transaction.
The investigation turned up a controlled substance, money and other physical evidence that is being analyzed by the DCI Crime Lab.
Morales is in the Buena Vista county jail on a 100-thousand dollar cash bond.
The incident remains under investigation.
