(Wallingford)– Wallingford firefighters spent a portion of their day Saturday battling a grass fire.
Fire Chief Jarrod Fischer says they were called to the scene across from 2461 390th Avenue in Emmet county shortly before 1:00 p.m.
Fischer says a resident in that area had been burning off some grass when the fire jumped a fence line and got into a hilly field. A special grass unit was used to put out the fire as pumper trucks had to stay on the flat ground.
Firefighters were on the scene about an hour and-a-half Saturday.
No injuries were reported.
