Semi Vs. Car Crash In Osceola Co. Sends Two People To Hospital

November 22, 2014

(Ashton)– Two people were injured Wednesday in a collision involving a car and a semi in Osceola county.

The Sheriff’s Office says 62-year-old Gary Janssen of Freeport, Illinois was driving a 2001 Freightliner semi south on Highway 60 when he collided with a 1999 Chrysler driven by 17-year-old Kayla Duin of George who was eastbound on 230th Street.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance to the Osceola Community Hospital. There was no immediate word on their condition or extent of injuries.

The mishap took place shortly after noon just northeast of Ashton.

A news release issued by the Sheriff’s Office doesn’t say whether or not any charges have been filed.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Ashton Fire Department, Sibley Rescue and the Iowa State Patrol.
