(Wahpeton)– A big change takes effect this Wednesday, May 3rd, for boaters on all Dickinson county lakes.
Jeff Morrison of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources says a 25-mile-per-hour speed limit will be in effect one-half hour after sunset and remain in effect until sunrise each day.
Morrison says it will be up to individual boat owners to get educated on the new law.
The night-time speed limit was adopted unanimously by the DNR’s Natural Resource Commission March 9th. It was based in part on comments received at public hearings.
