(Undated)– Flooding continues along several area rivers after last weekend’s three inches of rain pushed them back out of their banks.
The National Weather Service has continued flood warnings for the Little Sioux River near Milford and in the Spencer area, and for the West Fork of the Des Moines River at Estherville. The Weather Service says the rivers have crested in those areas, but minor to moderate flooding continues.
Barring any more rain, officials say the Little Sioux near Milford should drop below flood stage Monday morning. It won’t go below flood stage in the Spencer area until this coming Wednesday.
The West Fork of the Des Moines River at Estherville is expected to remain above flood stage through atleast early next week.
