(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Wednesday voted four-to-one to approve plans for a culvert project in the area of Mill Creek and Sixth Street in Milford.
The project has an estimated cost of 125-thousand dollars which will be paid entirely by the county. Even though the county will foot the bill, the city of Milford must also sign off the project, as most of the construction will take place in its jurisdiction.
County Engineer Dan Eckert told the supervisors it’s part of an overall project designed to more rapidly lower the Iowa Great Lakes during times of high water.
Supervisor David Gottsche cast the lone no vote against the project.
A bidletting is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. February 5th, pending approval of the plans by the Milford city council.
