November 22, 2014

(Undated)– Thursday’s snow and slick roads caused problems for motorists in southwest Minnesota.

A single-vehicle mishap around 9:30 a.m. on Highway 15 in Martin county injured a West Bend woman.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 44-year-old Jeffrey Bonnstetter of West Bend was driving a 2002 Chevrolet southbound when he lost control on the snow-covered road. The vehicle went into the west ditch and rolled.

42-year-old Pamela Bonnstetter, a passenger, was taken to the Fairmont hospital with a shoulder injury. No injuries were reported to three others in the vehicle…all from West Bend and all family members.

A damage estimate to the vehicle wasn’t available.

A Lakefield woman sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle mishap shortly after 11:00 p.m. Thursday on Highway 60 southwest of Windom.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 19-year-old Amanda Hesemann of Lakefield was westbound when she lost control of a 1999 Pontiac on the ice-covered road. The vehicle went into the median and rolled.

Hesemann sustained some lacerations to her left leg but wasn’t taken to a hospital.

The vehicle was totaled.

And a Rapid City, South Dakota man was injured in a single-vehicle crash shortly before 1:00 a.m. this (Friday) morning on Interstate 90 west of Fairmont.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 48-year-old Michael Shinn of Rapid City lost control of a 1997 Chevrolet as he was traveling westbound. The vehicle left the road and went into the ditch where it rolled.

Shinn was taken by ambulance to the Fairmont hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

Moderate damage was reported to the vehicle.

The Spencer ambulance, which happened to be traveling through the area at the time, and the Gold Cross Ambulance, assisted on the scene.
