(Spirit Lake)– A search warrant executed early this (Thursday) morning at a residence in Spirit Lake has landed two people in jail on drug charges.
Spirit Lake police say it stems from an investigation they were involved in along with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
Authorities executed the search warrant around 2:45 a.m. this (Thursday) morning at 607 19th Street in Spirit Lake.
The search turned up a green leafy substance alleged to be marijuana along with drug paraphernalia.
20-year-old Michael Mell of Spencer was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…second offense; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
19-year-old Cassandra Peterson of Spirit Lake was also arrested. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
