(May City)– An Ocheyedan man has died of a medical condition he suffered Tuesday evening while driving a pickup that collided with a building and a minivan in May City.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 71-year-old Delbert Schultz of Ocheyedan was westbound on Aldred Avenue west of Albert Street when he suffered the condition, causing him to lose control. Deputies say the vehicle speeded up and went into the south ditch where it collided with a storage building and a 1988 Dodge minivan that was parked inside it.
Schultz was taken by the May City ambulance to the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley where he was pronounced dead due to the medical condition.
A 1995 Dodge pickup Schultz was driving sustained an estimated three thousand dollars in damage. Six thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the storage building, with about two thousand dollars in damage estimated to the minivan…both owned by Russell Holst of May City.
The collision took place around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday.
