Man Wanted On Federal Warrant Arrested At Okoboji Motel

(Okoboji)– A man wanted on a federal warrant for a probation violation was arrested Thursday evening at an Okoboji motel.

37-year-old Stewart VanMaasdam was arrested without incident at about 9:45 p.m. by members of the Okoboji Police Department and the Multi-Agency Response Team, or MART. The team was activated after police were informed by the U.S. Marshals Service that VanMaasdam was possibly armed and dangerous.

VanMaasdam is being held in the Dickinson county jail pending transport to a federal facility by the U.S. Marshals Service.

MART Team members responding to the scene included officers from the Okoboji and Emmetsburg Police Departments, Emmet and Palo County Conservation Officers, Deputy Sheriffs from Emmet and Palo counties and a paramedic with the Palo Alto County Ambulance Service.
