(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake man has been charged in connection with a burglary of a rural Spirit Lake home that took place on Monday.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Travis Janzen has beeen charged with burglary in the second degree and reckless use of a firearm.
Authorities say no one was home at the time of the burglary.
Janzen is accused of entering the residence, stealing items and of shooting a rifle into the walls inside the home.
Janzen was allegedly in possession of the property reported stolen from the residence when he was apprehended Monday by the Spirit Lake Police Department.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in its investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Spirit Lake Police Department.
