(Spencer)– The board of directors of the Spencer-based Northwest Aging Association will have some new faces on it as the result of recent elections.
Ray Taphorn of Alta was elected to represent Buena Vista county; Roger Anderson of Estherville will represent Emmet county; Larry Pedley of Sibley was elected as Osceola county’s representative; Dennis Schumacher of Mallard will represent Palo Alto county; and Mabel Mantel of Orange City was elected as Sioux county’s representative.
The new directors will join Robert Rose of Clay county, Irene Kruger of Dickinson county, Ruth Caswell of Lyon county and Carol Wellcome of O’Brien county.
Each director serves a two-year term and is responsible to their constituents age 60 and over in each county. They oversee governance of the Northwest Aging Association, set the budget, approve contracts and policies and oversee hiring and evaluation of the Executive Director.
The board meets monthly at the Northwest Aging Association’s offices in Spencer.
