Probation Revocation Hearing Scheduled In Waltz Case

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A probation revocation hearing for Meg Waltz has been set for this coming Monday in Dickinson County District Court, but court documents say it likely will be rescheduled as Waltz’s attorney has to be out of town that day for another case. A preliminary hearing in the case is now set for July 6th.

Documents on file at the Dickinson County Clerk of Court’s Office point out a number of alleged violations of Waltz’s probation terms. The allegations were filed by the Judicial District Department of Correctional Services.

According to the documents, atleast one required monthly report wasn’t filed by Waltz for May, 2009; that she is behind two months worth of payments in supervision fees and that on November 10th a court officer received a check that came back insufficient funds. Waltz covered the check by paying a late fee.

The documents also allege that Waltz failed to file a wage assignment with the Clerk of Court; and that she never provided proof to her probation officer that she had obtained a life insurance policy…another requirement of her probation.

The documents also refer to her latest arrest for theft by check in the second degree.

Waltz was on probation after pleading guilty to charges stemming from the misappropriation of funds from the Before and After Schools Services program, which she formerly headed.

Waltz was back in jail and as of this (Thursday) morning was still being held on a 10-thousand dollar bond.
