Original Fun House Relics Arrive At Site Of Boji Bay Fun House & Pavilion

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– Construction continues on the Boji Bay Fun House and Pavilion at the junction of Highways 71 and 86 on the north side of Milford.

Relics from the original Fun House at Arnolds Park, including the sugar bowl, slide and barrel, began to arrive on the site this (Wednesday) morning. The items served as a back drop for a news conference with developer Dan Wells of LeMars. He told the gathering the attraction will nicely compliment existing tourism venues in the Iowa Great Lakes and will serve as a unique spot for businesses outside the area looking for a great place to hold retreats or meetings.

A 30-thousand square foot building under construction will feature the sugar bowl on the main floor with a spiraling staircase surrounding it, descending from the second story. The fun house slide will start on the second floor and descend through a large opening to the main floor. The barrel will be on the main floor surrounded by a bar featuring the original wooden floor from the original Roof Garden.

The attraction will also feature three pools including an adult swim-up bar grotto, volleyball courts, a children’s park, mini golf, jungle gym and sunning decks.

Plans call for the facility to be open to the public during the summer as a pavilion. During the off-season, Wells says it will serve as a special events center.

Wells says they still hope to have the facility open this coming May.
