Clay County Collision Injures Two

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision Friday in Clay county sent two people to the hospital.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Heidi Dollen of Fairmont was driving a 2002 Mercury with three passengers. Deputies say Dollen had stopped at a stop sign facing south waiting to turn east onto Highway 18. Authorities say a 1996 Nissan driven by 20-year-old Anthony Irby of Madison, Wisconsin was westbound on Highway 18 with five passengers, and that Irby was attempting to turn north onto 280th Avenue when he lost control. The vehicle slid into the one driven by Dollen.

Irby and a passenger in his vehicle, Percy Harris, were taken to Spencer Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Irby was cited for failure to maintain control and possession of alcohol under the legal age.

A 1996 Nissan driven by Irby was totaled; functional damage was reported to a 2002 Mercury driven by Dollen.

The collision took place shortly before 11:30 p.m. Friday.
