(Estherville)– The former Medeival Glass Building in Estherville has a new owner–it’s Iowa Lakes Community College.
College President Valerie Newhouse made the purchase at an Emmet County Sheriff’s Sale after getting approval from the college’s board of trustees at a special meeting this (Thurs.) morning to attend the sale.
The college paid $350,000 for the 31,836 square foot building and 4.7 acres of land it sits on.
The property is adjacent to the college’s wind energy education facility on Seventh Avenue South in Estherville.
College officials haven’t said what they intend to use the building for saying that it allows an opportunity to expand in many possible areas.
Efforts are getting underway to clean out the building.
