(Spirit Lake)– An investigation continues into a two-vehicle collision Friday in which one of the drivers later died.
Spirit Lake police say 98-year-old Avan Robinson of Spirit Lake was southbound on Sunner Avenue at 175th Street, or Stakeout Road, and 63-year-old Danny Faught of Melbourne, Iowa was eastbound on 175th Street when the two collided.
Both drivers were transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare where Robinson later passed away, but authorities are unsure if it was a result of injuries she sustained in the collision.
$6,000 in damage was estimated to a 1997 Plymouth Voyager driven by Faught; damage to a 2000 Buick Park Avenue driven by Robinson was estimated at $7,000.
The mishap took place shortly before 2:30 p.m.
