(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop early Sunday in Spirit Lake resulted in the arrests of five men on drug charges.
Spirit Lake police say an officer pulled over a vehicle around 3:00 a.m. driven by 18-year-old Levi Olson of Dolliver.
A further investigation and a subsequent search resulted in the discovery of drug paraphernalia and a green leafy substance alleged to be marijuana.
Olson was arrested and booked into the Dickinson county jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated; possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; prohibited acts and operating with an expired driver’s license.
20-year-old Leo Markeson of Estherville, 18-year-old Anthony Defries, also of Estherville; 18-year-old Donald Henrickson of Spirit Lake and 18-year-old Blake Hoffman of Wallingford were all charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. All four were passengers in the vehicle Olson was driving.
