(Storm Lake)– Several Okoboji and Spirit Lake High School students were accepted into the Northwest Iowa Honor Bands this past Saturday in Storm Lake.
Approximately 400 of the finest instrumental music students from northwest Iowa auditioned for a position in one of the two 100 piece bands.
Okoboji students accepted include senior Kelly Kaufman on flute, juniors Nicole Ballah on clarinet, Mark Welle on tuba and sophomores Emily Noll on clarinet and Morgan Nielsen on bass clarinet.
Spirit Lake students accepted include senior Hayley Welch on tromobone, juniors Kaylee Tritle on alto saxophone, Nigel Hanson on trumpet, Hannah Coenen on french horn, Alex Lende and Connor Rowley on trombone and sophomore Lauren Shell on baritone saxophone.
Students will rehearse and present a concert in early January at Morningside College Eppley Auditorium in Sioux City.
