(Spencer)– A traffic stop in Clay county back on November 23rd resulted in authorities finding 11 pounds of marijuana stashed in a car. A deputy that pulled over the vehicle requested assistance from the Estherville Police Department’s Office K-9 Unit, which resulted in the discovery of the hidden pot.
The driver, 32-year-old Steffanie Farber of Fort Collins, Colorado, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and 8 counts of failure to affix a drug tax stamp. She is being held in the Clay county jail on a $45,000 cash-only bond.
Deputies say it’s believed the marijuana was being distributed in Clay county and the surrounding area.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in the ongoing investigation by the Estherville Police Department, Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement and the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force.
